For the very first time in Kuwait, the Catholic community came together in a truly heartwarming celebration of the Blessing of Pets in honor of the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Patron of Ecology. The event was held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 7:30 PM, in the Holy Family Co-Cathedral Courtyard, where families joyfully gathered with their beloved fur and feather friends to receive a special blessing from His Grace, Msgr. Eugene Martin Nugent, Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia.
It was a beautiful evening filled with joy, gratitude, and love — a reflection of God’s tenderness toward all living creatures. The laughter of families, the wagging of tails, and the gentle purrs of pets created a peaceful and joyful atmosphere, reminding everyone of the harmony between humanity and creation.
As we celebrated the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi, we were reminded that every creature is a gift and a reflection of God’s goodness. May this meaningful celebration inspire us to continue caring for one another and for all of God’s creation with love, compassion, and gratitude.
