The Feast of the Annunciation at the Convent of the Rosary Sisters – State of Kuwait

In a deeply spiritual atmosphere filled with faith and joy, the Rosary Sisters in the State of Kuwait celebrated the Feast of the Annunciation, together with the centenary of the passing of Saint Marie Alphonsine into heaven. The celebration was held in the presence of His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi, Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, accompanied by a number of priests from the Holy Family Co-Cathedral which included Fr. Suleiman Hifawi, priest of the Latin Arabic community, Chorbishop Raymond Eid, of the Maronite community, priest; Fr. Yassa Zakaria, of the Coptic Catholic community; and Fr. Boutros Gharib from the Greek Catholic Church. This fraternal visit reflected the spirit of communion and unity among the Churches.

They were welcomed by Mother Mary-Rose Swaidan, the Mother Superior of the convent, along with the sisters: Sr. Alexa Btaich, Sr. Richard Nohra, Sr. Lara Shawareb, and Sr. Lina Aranki, who expressed their joy at this blessed pastoral visit. It is worth noting that the Rosary Sisters carry out a distinguished educational mission through their supervision of Fajr Al-Sabah School, which contributes to serving the community and promoting human and educational values.

His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi presided over the Holy Mass for the Feast of the Annunciation in an atmosphere of reverence and prayer. Intentions were offered for peace in the world, especially in the Middle East, for the continued grace of coexistence and love in the State of Kuwait, and for all the sisters who have served in Kuwait.

This celebration highlighted the profound spiritual message of the Feast of the Annunciation as a feast that proclaims hope and salvation, renewing the call to trust in God’s will and to live in faith and obedience, following the example of the Virgin Mary.

The fraternal visit also reflected the spirit of unity and cooperation among the various Catholic rites in Kuwait, offering a living witness to the universal Church and its mission to serve humanity and promote the values of peace and love.

“I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.”
