Rev. Father Fernando Grande Frías

DEPUTY CHIEF OF MISSION (APPOINTMENT:1st JULY 2023)

Reverend Father Fernando Grande Frías was born on March 27, 1986 in Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato, Mexico.

In 2000 he entered the Seminary of the Diocese of Cuernavaca, completing his higher studies in the Minor Seminary, and then continuing his philosophical and theological studies in the same institution. In 2013 he obtained the final Bachelor’s degree. He was ordained a priest in 2014. He served as Vicar in the Parish of San Agustin in Jonacatepec and Santo Domingo de Guzman in Oaxtepec, in the same Diocese. From 2017 he also collaborated in the Minor Seminary as a spiritual director and director of studies. In 2019 he was sent to the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome to prepare for the diplomatic service of the Holy See. At the same time, he attended the Lateran Pontifical University, where in 2023 he obtained a Doctorate in Canon Law.

As of July 1, 2023, he was sent to the Nunciature in Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain as Deputy Chief of Mission. In addition to Spanish, he speaks Italian and English.
