Bishop Francis Micallef, OCD
Bishop Francis George Micallef, OCD appointed Third Apostolic Vicar of Kuwait; ordained Bishop on 6 January 1982 at St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome. The Vicariate witnesses notable pastoral consolidation and growth.

Iraqi Invasion & Liberation
During the Iraqi invasion and occupation of Kuwait, the Cathedral becomes a beacon of hope. Clergy remain steadfast; Masses continue despite extreme hardship. Following liberation in 1991, the Cathedral bells ring, proclaiming freedom and thanksgiving.

Cathedral Complex Expanded
Major expansion and renovation inaugurated under Bishop Francis Micallef, OCD, transforming the Cathedral into a comprehensive pastoral, administrative, and community complex, responding to the exponential growth of the faithful.
