Parish Summer Camp 2026
Inspiring Gen Z: STCJ Summer Camp Explores the Lives of Young Saints
With the summer holidays arriving and travel plans remaining uncertain for many, the STCJ Parish Summer Camp 2026 kicked off on Saturday, June 13th 2026. Designed for children aged 7 to 15, the camp offers a faith and fun-filled morning every Saturday running through the month of August.
As with previous years, this summer’s camp centers around a special spiritual theme. This year, it is “Young Saints,” an initiative aimed at motivating children to view their faith through the lens of young, vibrant, and holy individuals who devoted their lives to Jesus at an early age.
Each week, the day begins with a couple of children from each team leading the opening prayer and Gospel reading, sharing a short reflection. This is immediately followed by high-octane praise and worship, getting everyone in motion with action songs for Jesus.
The first week began with an interactive session on St. Carlo Acutis, who famously inspires today’s Gen Z to use technology not just for entertainment, but as a tool to bring people closer to God. The second week was dedicated to the parish patroness, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, who grew deeply in love with Jesus at a very young age through her famous approach of doing “little things with great love.”
These interactive spiritual sessions are paired with vibrant group activities tailored to each saint. Campers have already engaged in hands-on crafts, such as creating a Laptop Eucharistic Web Page in honor of Carlo Acutis, and crafting St. Thérèse’s traditional rose bouquet with a cross using chart and craft paper. The energy shifts to high gear when the games commence, as children from all seven teams unleash their competitive spirit to clinch first place.
Conducted from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the parish, the camp sees an average weekly attendance of nearly 220 children, all eagerly looking forward to a spiritually enlightening and joyful Saturday morning until August 15th.
