Commissioning of STCJ Catechists

2 Timothy 2:2: “And what you have heard from me through many witnesses entrust to faithful people who will have the ability to teach others as well.”

On the occasion of AVONA Catechism Sunday on Friday, 25th September 2026, during the 10:00 a.m. Children’s Holy Mass, the Catechists of St. Therese of Child Jesus Parish, Salmiya, took the Catechists Pledge committing themselves to impart to others the truths of the Faith that they themselves have learned and initiate those being catechized into participating actively in Liturgical Celebrations, in leading good and value filled lives.

After the homily, Rev. Fr. Savio D’Souza blessed the catechists with holy water and formally sent them forth to serve as teachers of the Catholic faith. As a sign of their mission and the parish’s encouragement, each new catechist was presented with a small crucifix, symbolizing their dedication to Christ and their role in guiding the faith of the young.
