Welcoming the King of Kings at STCJ, Salmiya
The parishioners of the St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus Church welcomed The King of Kings on Palm Sunday with deep devotion and joy on the 27th, 28th and 29th of March 2026. It was a powerful sight to see the devoted faithful gathering in prayer across our many multilingual masses, united as one vibrant community.
Our parish ushered in Holy Week this Palm Sunday which marks the triumphant entry of Jesus, our King, into Jerusalem. Even as He rode into the city, He knew the path that lay ahead. We are reminded today of the fickle nature of the crowds – those who shouted “Hosanna” were the same who later called for His crucifixion. Yet, we hold onto hope, knowing that the King of Peace will return in all His glory very soon!
It was a beautiful day of faith as Holy Masses of various languages and rites were celebrated by our clergy across three days. Despite the prevailing circumstances, we were blessed to see so many parishioners gathered for the Eucharistic Celebration, united in prayer and tradition to pray for peace and safety in the region.
The services concluded with the solemn distribution of palms, a reminder of the path that leads us toward Easter.
