Archbishop Eugene Nugent Celebrates the Feast of The Assumption at STCJ
On August 15, 2026, the St. Thérèse Parish in Salmiya celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The occasion was truly blessed as the parish gathered for a Thanksgiving Holy Mass to bid farewell to His Excellency Archbishop Eugene Martin Nugent, Apostolic Nuncio to Northern Arabia. Concelebrated by parish priests Fr. Savio D’Souza, Fr. Derrick Misquitta, and Fr. James Tuscano, the solemn liturgy highlighted our strong Salesian devotion to Our Lady, which the Nuncio warmly acknowledged in his remarks.
Following the Holy Mass, Archbishop Nugent met with parishioners in the courtyard, personally imparting his blessing to those who came to bid him farewell before he assumes his new mission as Apostolic Nuncio to the Czech Republic.
