The Easter Vigil — Pontifical Mass Presided by the Apostolic Nuncio at Holy Family Co-Cathedral, Kuwait
On the evening of Saturday, April 5, 2026, the faithful gathered at Holy Family Co-Cathedral at 8:00 PM for the most sacred and exuberant celebration of the Christian year — the Easter Vigil Mass, presided over by His Grace Archbishop Eugine Martin Nugent, Apostolic Nuncio – AVONA.
The Easter Vigil, known as the Mother of all Vigils, marks the triumphant conclusion of the Holy Triduum. Beginning in darkness, the celebration burst forth with the lighting of the Easter fire and the Paschal Candle — a powerful symbol of Christ, the Light of the World, conquering sin and death. The liturgy unfolded through the Liturgy of the Word, recounting salvation history from Genesis to the Resurrection, followed by the joyful proclamation of the Alleluia — sung for the first time since the beginning of Lent.
Archbishop Nugent presided over this most solemn and joyful pontifical celebration, leading the community in the renewal of baptismal promises and the Eucharist, as the Church proclaimed with one voice the cornerstone of the Christian faith: Christ is Risen. Alleluia!
